Unbeliveable Heartache

Yesterday was a great day. We took the girls and my Grams, (their great grams) to Sea World. The girls were perfect beyond my wildest expectations. Then we arrive home and C has mail waiting for her from her Preschool teacher in VA, Mrs. Kempton. We open the envelope...a DVD. C is so excited...we watch it. A slide show to music of the school year. Pictures of everyone in the school over the whole year. How awesome that the school does this for the students. We left VA in March so C missed some of her school days, so I think this is great!

We watch the whole 20 minute (or so) video..everyone loves it. C wants to watch it again in her room..okay no problem. 10 minutes I go into her room...

C- "Mommy I want to go to Virginia"
Mommy - "Why Bear?
C- "to see my friends"
Mommy - Sorry Bear, they are far away now."

Not more than 5 minutes later I hear a whimper coming from her room.....I run....

I find C wrapped in her blankets on the floor (did she fall off the bed?) I unwrap her to find her shaking and crying.

Mommy - "What's wrong baby?"
C - "I miss my friends!!!!"
Mommy - "I'm so sorry baby" as I grab her and cradle her like an infant..now I am sobbing...
Mommy - " I'm sorry baby, we can't see them right now"
C- "I want my friends!"
Mommy - "I know baby I am so sorry, we will make new friends I promise"
C- "NO! I don't want new friends, I want my friends!"
Mommy - "But baby, they are far away now"
C- "I don't want to stay here anymore, I want to go home to Virginia"

This went on for 20 minutes. Me apologizing and her telling me how much she wanted to go back to Virginia to her friends. I NEVER thought at this age she would have such deep, profound emotion about this kind of thing. All I know is that it absolutely broke my heart in a hundred pieces and I could not fix it. I cried, she cried and we held each other until we couldn't cry anymore. Being a military family has never been easy, but it has never been as hard as it was that day. Knowing now that every move is going to effect my girls in a tremendous way is heartbreaking, and even though they did not sign up for it, their father and I did. I can only hope when they are older they understand the choice we made and are proud of their fathers service and sacrifice.

Please on this Memorial Holiday, no matter what your politics, no matter what your belief.....do not forget to thank a service member or their family for their sacrifices to keep us safe. Freedom is not Free! It is by the grace of these men and woman who volunteer to protect us, that we have the freedom to do and say what we please.

****Sweet Clippies Review & Giveaway****

I was so thrilled when Melissa from Sweet Words Boutique asked me to review her Clippies. I have for some time tried to find clips that of course are not just adorable but that actually do what they claim and do not fall out. My daughters have fine hair like myself (sorry girls), so at the end of the day their hair always ends up in a ponytail because the clips or barrettes I used fall out. Lately I haven't even bothered with clips... until now!

I am so excited about the Clippies from Sweet Words Boutique. My daughters wore them all weekend! To the beach, shopping, playing on the playground, even jumping in a jumpy house and guess what...we came home with all the Clippies still in their hair! These Clippies must be made of pixie magic because not only do they stay put, but my eldest actually looks forward to me brushing her hair. She now runs to her room to pick two so she can wear them. Thanks to these Clippies my daughters can be fashionable and I don't have to fight the ponytail :)

I would like to introduce Melissa to you!

Why did you start Sweet Words Boutique?

I've been creating and crafting for as long as I can remember, and
wanted to spend more time at home. So then, Sweet Words was created.
As a mommy of 2 beautiful little girls, I wanted them decked out in the latest
cute fashions, but didn't want to pay the high price tag that often went along
with them! So...I began creating special items for them and now with
the love & support of my husband, I took the chance to share them
with all the other mom's all over the world.

Out of all your products, which is your most favorite to make
and why?

I don't think I can pick a single one of my products that is my favorite
to make. I love creating, crafting & sewing no matter what
I'm making!

If you could do anything (with no limitations) that you wanted
to, what would that be?

This has got to be the easiest, but yet hardest of all questions! I think
that I would go on a huge shopping spree in NYC for me and my family!!
May sound silly or shallow, but I've always love NYC {although I've
never been}, maybe one day!!

Besides your daughter, what is one thing you can not
live without?

My Sewing Machine...haha... Oh wait, my whole family
- Love You All!

What is your favorite sinful treat?

Strawberry Cheese Cake...yummy

Now for the fun part....Giveaway Time!

Sweet Words will give one lucky Winner the "Spring Fun" pack of Clippies. Included are:

1 Ladybug
1 Ballet Slippers

I'm a Cheese Ball

I'm officially a cheesy cheese ball. Head over to one of my fav blogs Carma Sez for Cheese Ball Tuesday! I had so much fun taking pictures with the barrel of UTZ cheese balls and so did my girls. The tourists must have thought we were a little loco as they watched us running around taking pics trying to find the best place to showcase everything we wanted to. The girls had been dying to eat them since I brought them home. They waited 3 days...that's a record for them I think.

The pictures are on top of Mt Soledad. Anyone from this area knows it well. It is the best place to get a look at all of San Diego with a beautiful 360 degree view. My hubby growing up in Mission Beach used to go up there often with his buddies. This was when it was just a cross and stairs. Now it is a awesome Memorial for Military Veterans. I have already planned to get Traves his plaque added when he retires form the Marines.

We were married in 2004 next to the cross in a surprise (to me) ceremony. My hubby had planned it. As any other normal day we walked up to the top of the cross to take in the view. On the way up the stairs I see him smirking and I asked what his problem was. When we reached the top he knelt down and asked me to marry him. My first response was "aren't we already doing that in June?" (We were right in the middle of planning our big wedding), he said yes but he wanted to marry me today, just him and I, no craziness, something special between the two of us. As I looked around I saw our friend Cruzer and the pastor waiting for us. So In March we were married on top of Mt Soledad my most favorite place in San Diego. We still had the big wedding in June and it was perfect, but I will forever tell the story of how my husband surprised me on our wedding day.

Any Given Sunday

Sunday was an amazing day besides the fact it started with pulling a load of new clothes from the dyer only to find them covered in multicolor melted crayons! (pictures to be posted later, it was funny after the tears and mourning for the worn only once clothing had subsided)

So anyways back to the awesome day. Hubby and I decided to take the girls to Mission Beach for a walk first thing in the am. That is my most favorite time to hit the beach. I love the foggy, grey, overcast feel of the beach. I'd take it any day over a hot, sunny, crowded day. So after a good slow mile walk up and down the beach we decided to stop for breakfast. It was perfect. Sitting on the roof top overlooking the beach. The girls coloring, enjoying looking at the seagulls as they flew by, listening to the waves crash...and then there......out in the line up ("line up" is the place just outside the breaking waves where surfers wait for their waves) DOLPHINS! A school of dolphins just cruising by right past the surfer I had been watching only moments earlier. Have I said mentioned much I love being back in San Diego :)

After a wonderful breakfast of cinnamon french toast with wild berry puree, fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt and some strong black coffee we walked over to Belmont Park so the girls could go on a few rides. They were so happy. Seeing their smiley faces full of joy made me feel nothing but spectacular that we could give them a day like yesterday.

Wordless Wednesday - Daddy's Girl

Yep, she is her daddy's girl!

I Love You This Much!

My girl Sharon at Mama's a Mess posted this wonderful craft a month or so ago and while thinking of what C could make for her Great Grams for Mother's Day I remembered Sharon's post. Not only did C have fun making it, but Grams cried when she opened the envelope. See, my Grams has not seen C since she was 7 months old (now 4yrs) and has never met M until we moved back to CA last month. So to spend this "first" Mother's Day with her great grandbabies was very special. Thank you Sharon for sharing your awesome craft ideas.

Here are a few pics of C being crafty. Unfortunately I was not able to get a pic of grams with her present or even a pic of it finished...don't know why, guess I'm slipping :)

A Day for All We Do!

To all you awesome mommies out there. I wish you all a wonderful, relaxing Mother's Day.
I myself had a very nice day. The girls gave me a card, cake, balloons, flowers and a certificate for a 1 1/2 hour massage! 1 1/2 hours? That seems a little long to me...I can barely sit still for 10 minutes these days. It was a sweet gesture from my loving husband who said and I quote "you really need to relax!" I'm hoping he meant it as that I have been working really hard unpacking the house, working on orders, dealing with the girls in a new place...and not that I have been cranky and crabby and need to freakin relax. Granted he would be right on both accounts...haha

Then we had family come visit for a BBQ and a few games of 31. Cards in our family has been a tradition since my mom was a baby. I remember my great grandmother (may she rest in peace) teaching me how to play Rummy and War as soon as I could sit at the table. She would always bust out the cups of nickles she collected from playing the slots in Laughlin. It always looked like so much money. So now it is great when we can get together, play and carry on the tradition.

Tag Your It!

I'm Over It

Thanks you everyone for your kind and understand comments about my problem. You are all right, I will not make my blog private, nor will I continue to think about it. I am over it. I was honest, I said what I felt and what I thought and now I am going back to being happy me. I truely believe in the saying "what comes around goes around", and I am not one who likes to put negative energy out into the world, so I am clearing my soul. I have so many positives in my life. The love of my family, support of my husband, my beautiful girls, my awesome friends online and off, and my buisness which gives me the outlet to to what I love to do. I think those all all the best positives in my life.

I know a lot of you asked me to "out" her. My dark side screams "do it!", but I can't. I feel like that would be something she would do, and I do not want to go to that level. Plus I am trying to build a good reputation and a good honest business and I don't want that negative aspect being seen of me. However if you are wondering if she is "following" you can contact me and I will say yes or no.

As of this morning I have a Copy Right Infringement Lawyer, so if any more written words are stolen from me, she will be hearing from my lawyer. Unfortunately I can not do anything about her using the same web host, copying the way my site is laid out, copying my categories and making the same products as me (that are not copy righted by myself) or even joining all the same blogging sites I have been apart of for months.

So on to bigger and better things. The high road is very sunny and beautiful and that is the path I am taking. So this post and the original post will be bumped down so I can bring back to the top my Giveaway. Plus I have been "tagged" by Lisa from Pink in The House Of Blue so I need to get started on that, thanks Lisa :)

Thanks again everyone for your support!

Need Help From My Awesome Friends..PLEASE!

Should I or shouldn't I. That is the question....and I NEED HELP!

I have been struggling with making the decision to make my blog private or not. So I am asking my lovely readers and followers to give me your opinions. I really do not want to go private. I want someone to say "hey what is that site about" and be able to click and here I am. Not feel put off by having to ask to be "approved" to visit me.

The reason I am having this dilemma is that I have a for lack of a better word a "stalker". This person in the past has not only taken my idea to open a shop but has copied word for word things from my website on to hers. It does not stop with just me, she has taken pictures, business polices, ect.. word for word from others Sites and Etsy's Stores and pastes them to her own website and then copyrights the stolen material as her own.

I work so hard on my blog and my biz website and all the sleepless nights researching, networking, and chatting with others just so she can copy me? I chuckle to myself sometimes when I see she makes the SAME outfit I did just months before or posts something almost word for word for a giveaway that I had posted days earlier. I think it is almost sad. Sad that someone is building on the backs of others hard work. Sad that someone can not do the work themselves.

I usually say "whatever" when I see she has done the above things, but today I got an email from a friend who said I should checkout her website. OMG! Not only has she switched to using the same web provider as me, but her layout, her categories, even down to buttons on her site is just like my website. Practically identical in more ways than not.

It is one thing to see something on a site your visiting and say "oh snap that is cute, I want that", we all do it...that's one of the cool things about networking and blogging...but I don't claim to anyone who will listen that it was my idea...or that I just happen to come across it when I know damn well where I saw it.

I know she checks this site, she has since I started the blog...and I waited for the day she would start a blog and low and behold she did...it obviously was not a surprise to me or others who know her and what she has done. Now she is joining the same blogger groups, and is following some of you! She see's all the lovely comments you all leave about my blog and website and she wants...needs.. that attention so she is copying me at every turn.

Before you ask, yes I know this person, we used to be friends. That ended when I got tired of uncovering her lies. Lying to a room off mommies that she made the outfit her daughter was waring because mine and my girlfriends kids were getting attention because we did actually make ours. Lying when she said she designed the logo for her website and biz cards all by herself, when come to find out she copied it from Vista Print, ect..ect..ect. Then to top it off to find out she talked smack about me when I was not around.

My question is...When does the phrase "Imitation is the sheerest form of flattery" run a little thin. When is it not flattery anymore, but just plain rude?

Sorry this has been a little longer of a post than I anticipated. Obviously it was things I needed to say, but I really hope it did not come off as petty or snotty because if you have read my blogs in the past, you'll know that was not my intent.

So back to the original question...what would you do? What would you do it you found out someone was hot on your tail copying almost everything you did and profiting from not only your hard work but others?

APFOB Featured On Six Feet Under Blog!

Tess from Six Feet Under has Featured my little 'ol blog on her Words With A Blogger Wednesday. I am very honored that she has chosen me. Although I really should have proofed my answers a little bit better. My very first sentence say's...."it's nothing spectacular like so many others......" I meant "...unlike so many others..", and of course there is misspelled words (maybe that's why I never won a spelling bee) That's what I get for jumping on the computer before I have had my coffee. But I know you lovely's know what I meant and can over look a few spelling errors :)

So if you have not had the pleasure to visit Tess's blog yet, please go stop by and take a peak. She does it all..reviews, features, photography and has a greeting card backed by Hallmark! She is a jack of all trades and such a sweetheart.

Thanks again TESS!!!
