1000 Bibs and Blankets
My girlfriend Sharon of Mama's a Mess is doing a wonderful drive for an orphanage near her home. Her goal is to make, collect and donate 1000 Bibs and Blankets. In these trying times I think it is important to give if we can and as they say "pay if forward" if possible. I will be donating my time and services making bibs and I hope you can too. Even if it's only 3 bibs at least that is three more orphaned babies that will be helped. If you would like to join Sharon in her quest to reach 1000 Bibs and Blankets please see her blog for more info.

I Adore Him
I really love my husband and a teeny tiny bit more when he tells me to go find my happy. So where did my happy take me today???

I got to upgrade my serger and buy an embroidery machine....eeek!! I'm so excited i'm sure the dogs 20 miles away could hear me squeal. I really liked the Babylock I had previously, but the owner of the shop I bought it from told me that if I wanted to upgrade within the year he would buy back my serger for full paid price and I could put it toward the Imagine. SCORE!
The embroidery machine is a Singer Futura. Not as fancy as my girlfriend who has the next model up with the display screen and stuff, but I am sooo not complaining. Now I realize this is probably going to be my next anniversary, birthday and Christmas gifts and I am good with that. I can't wait to see how this baby works!

Etsy - Bring Me Some Sun
Today is rainy and cold and I could really use a little sunshine, so I thought the perfect color for this weeks Etsy sightings would be Yellow!

Changing It Up
So I was checking in with one of my regular read blogs All Those Little Things (she always has yummy recipes) and I loved her new background so I decided to checkout where she got her layout from... The Cutest Blog On The Block. I'm excited because I've been wanting something different lately so I choose "Giddyup Garden" and I'm totally digging it. The only thing I don't like is how it changes my page as a whole. I liked having the stretched out look across my page, now everything is more narrow...a little tweaking and I think it will be great! Thanks for the find V!

Portabellopixie Claire
I was so excited when this pattern came in the mail the other day. A girlfriend had made this dress for her daughter and it was adorable so I had to buy it. I wasn't sure what fabrics I was going to use until C reminded me of the Tinkerbell fabric she had picked out. She was so excited while I was making it. I will admit the only mistake I think I made was cutting the skirt panels. It is supposed to be a much fuller skirt, so it is possible I traced the wrong size. However C is so skinny that when I tie the back, it sucks up at least 6 inches of the skirt so that could be why it's not as full too I guess. Either way she loves it, I love it and the pattern itself is awesome.

Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
We finally had a beautiful day here in VA yesterday so we went to a friends house for a get together. My girlfriend Freddie had her mom visiting from France. I don't know much French just the basic's. My girls probably know more than I do because they call Fredrick "tante" and our buddy (her hubby) Chris "tonton". They are fantastic people and it was so nice to finally meet her mother. She is such a doll and so fashion forward.
Anyways, I decided yesterday morning to whip up an outfit for M that I have been wanting to make for awhile. It is from the Ottobre Winter 08 and yet again when it was finished I fell in love with the pattern! The top is called "Cecilia" and the pants are "Lelle" leggings. The wrap style jacket called for using wool, but I had this adorable fleece and thought a fleece outfit would be perfect for winter. It was tough to get a picture of M standing still but I tried my best.
I also decided to have C ware M's Anna dress (previous post). As adorable M was when she wore it, C was even cuter I think because it was a perfect top for her. I layered it with the "Sweet'n Cosy" raglan-sleeve I had previously made her and then her jeans. Perfect and funny how my almost 4yr old can ware my 18 months clothing....they have the same chest and tummy measurements..haha
Now I'm sick and tired, I think I've been overdoing it a bit. I was up all last night with a fever, guess my body is trying to tell me something...we'll see if I listen.
